MICHAEL FRALEY
MUSIC DIRECTOR, SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR
 
Michael Fraley is a graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Music Performance.   He earned a Masters Degree in Music Education from Florida International University in Miami and in 2002, was one of the very  first teachers nationwide to earn the National Teacher's Certification in Music EAYA.
 
From 1988 – 1997, Mr. Fraley was the Director of Music at Key Largo School and Coral Shores High School in Islamorada, Florida.   From 1997 – 2010 he was the Director of Music at Boca Raton Middle School in Boca Raton, Florida.   He is currently the Director of Bands at Don Estridge High Tech Middle School in Boca Raton, Florida.  Mr. Fraley's ensembles have consistently earned Superior Ratings at District Music Performance Assessments and his groups have been recognized at both local and regional festivals.
 
As a professional musician, Mr. Fraley has performed with Suzanne Summers, Leslie Uggams, Jim Nabors, Kay Stevens, Shields and Yarnell, Rita Moreno, Lorna Luft, Jerry van Dyke, Jim Stafford, The Fifth Dimension, Eartha Kitt, Phyllis Diller, Sid Caesar, Audrey Landers, Ira Sullivan, Miroslav Vitous, George Russell, Jimmy Guiffre, Victor Wooten, Rosemary Clooney, The Glenn Miller Orchestra and Trini Lopez.  He was a staff musician for Busch Entertainment Corporation and is the founder of Mike Fraley’s Jazz For Kids Program.
 
Michael Fraley has been the recipient of several awards including: Florida Jr. Chamber of Commerce "Outstanding Young Floridian”, “Teacher of The Year”, and was declared by the Mayor of Monroe County and the Florida Keys an "Honorary Conch".  In 2007, he was awarded the “Tom Bishop Award” from the Florida Bandmasters Association and most recently, in 2010, he was honored to be selected as the “Frank Prize Winner for the Performing Arts” in Palm Beach County.
 
He is the former Secretary and Chairman of the District 14 Palm Beach County, Florida Bandmasters Association.  Despite his busy teaching and conducting schedule, Mr. Fraley continues to perform professionally in the greater Miami/ Ft. Lauderdale area.
